Open Bokka

Troubleshooting

My inbox is empty or messages are missing

Why conversations may not show in Bokka yet, and what to check: the open tab, the extension, the view, filters and search.

An empty inbox reads "No conversations on this device yet": "Your LinkedIn messages sync into this browser through the Bokka extension and are stored on this device, not on our servers." Check these, quickest first.

  1. Keep Bokka open in a tab. Bokka loads from LinkedIn at a measured pace while it's open in a tab, and conversations appear as they arrive.
  2. Check the extension and your LinkedIn sign-in. If the extension is missing, see The extension isn't connected. For "You're signed out of LinkedIn in this browser.", sign in on linkedin.com, then press Check again.
  3. Check the view. Archived conversations are in Archive, snoozed ones in Reminders, message requests in Other and spam in Spam. Some views start hidden; Organize in the sidebar shows them. See Inbox views.
  4. Check the filters. "· 3 hidden" (or another number) in the list header means filters hide some conversations. Press it, or Clear all, to show everything.
  5. Search looks only at what's on this device: "Only the conversations and messages on this device are searched." For older conversations, scroll to the end of the list and press Load more conversations.
  6. On a new browser, or after signing out or Clear local data, your messages download again. Your labels and notes are kept in your account.

Messages you might see

  • "LinkedIn changed how its inbox answers, so sync stopped until we update for it. What's already here stays on this device." There's nothing to do; it starts again after we update.
  • "We couldn't read this browser's storage." Reload the page. If it keeps happening, check that site data isn't blocked for this site.
  • "Sync is off until the extension or this page is updated." See Update the extension.
  • "Your trial has ended". See Choose, change or cancel a plan.
